PBS Kids “You Taught Me“

PBS Kids hasn’t created a new brand campaign in over 20 years. They’re already a well-trusted brand and educational partner for parents and caregivers but they wanted to bring awareness to the possibilities of kids by tugging on the heartstrings of parents. Thanks to Gabriel Lichstein’s parenting experience (and badass writing skills) I learned that parenthood is full of unexpected events but the most unexpected possibility is that kids teach us as much as we teach them.

This campaign was supposed to be shot in March 2020, but we all know what happened. So instead of child actors, we cast a diverse group of DPs and their families across the country to star in our spot. The kids had no acting experience and had all the regular kid moments that went with that. It was quite a bright light in our 2020 and made our spot that much more authentic.
